As Veganuary comes to a close, i’ve compiled a collection of my top 10 vegan products that I have tried and love and think you’ll love too! As much as I love natural and organic beauty products, I haven’t always enjoyed all the vegan beauty products I try. I think alot of that has to do with the ingredients that are sometimes found in them. I have incredibly sensitive skin which is why some of the synthetic ingredients don’t agree with my skin. However, over the last few years, I have had the opportunity to try some fabulous vegan products.
For those that don’t know, vegan beauty products do not use any animal byproducts in its formulations which includes lanolin (a popular emollient derived from sheep wool), beeswax, and shellac (which is created from lac bugs), aswell as many other such ingredients. All of these are substituted with synthetic or plant-based alternatives, like squalene and collagen.
It is also, worth remembering that vegan doesn’t always mean cruelty-free. Most vegan brands don’t test on animals out of principle, but it is worth noting that alot of the big cosmetics companies that make vegan products may test on animals in certain parts of the world.
