Zaynab is a formidable force in the beauty industry, with two decades on the job! She has established herself as a leading name in her profession, this has led to her being respected as an artist, author, entrepreneur and a teacher.
She began her career at Beauty School, firstly qualifying as a Beauty & Massage Therapist. Then to pursue her love of Make-Up she started work as a Make-Up Consultant with some of Europe’s leading cosmetic houses, including Clarins, Helena Rubinstein, Chanel, and Elizabeth Arden. She has trained with a number of Skincare houses including Decleor, Guinot, MD Formulations, Darphin and Dermalogica. As a Therapist she had mastered the non surgical facelift and micro-dermabrasion systems with waiting lists of two months and beyond for clients that were hugely satisfied with the results.
It was her flamboyant & unique cutting-edge make-up techniques that were ahead of its time (one only has to peak into her early portfolio) that rapidly elevated her to the top of her profession. This led to the opening of her first Make-Up & Beauty Salon, which quickly acquired a list of high profile celebrity clients and also won her two ‘National Salon of Excellence’ award.
Her reputation has spread across the globe and she is also one of the favoured make-up artists for Bollywood films. Earning her the title ‘Ultimate Bollywood Make-up Guru’ by the UK Press.
The opening of ‘The Training Academy’ was a natural progression, as the demand to learn Zaynab’s ‘unique style’ had grown tremendously. Over the years she has passed on her knowledge and expertise to hundreds of young entrepreneurs who have gone on to become successful make-up artists in their own right.
She has written and styled fashion & beauty for many of the UK’s leading Asian publications, as well as being featured as an Expert in Mainstream Beauty Magazines and international titles in the subcontinent and Middle East. Zaynab has appeared on the BBC, ITV, and Channel 4. As well as being a regular beauty contributor on BBC radio, she has hosted her own beauty shows both on TV and radio.
Zaynab has been involved in London’s leading awards ceremonies and fashion shows which has involved styling celebrities and politicians alike – including the UK Prime Minister and his wife.
She is the author of the Internationally acclaimed, best selling book ‘The Ancient Art of Mehndi’. The book has sold over 250,000 copies across 26 countries worldwide.
Zaynab has also been featured by the ‘Cosmopolitan Women of Achievement Awards’ as being one of the 100 most successful young women in the UK. Zaynab was again short listed as the one of the top 4 leading women entrepreneurs in the UK, this time by the ‘Women of Achievement Awards’.
She has appeared on the cover of Success magazine as one of the UK’s most successful ‘Young Entrepreneurs’ and was also featured in the BBC documentary highlighting successful entrepreneurs.
She has been invited by many UK institutions as a guest speaker to share her business knowledge and inspiration with aspiring as well as established professionals & entrepreneurs.
Zaynab has collaborated with the world’s leading Contact Lens Manufacturer ‘Fresh Look’ to help launch their ‘Look Book’, a style guide aimed at Women of Colour.
Throughout this amazing period of growth, one thing remained at the forefront of her mind – to create a make-up brand that provides a complete solution for all women, especially those of colour and after five years of painstaking research, product development and planning, she worked with leading cosmetics manufacturers in the USA to create a palette of colours and products that she believed would satisfy all women.
This led to the birth of her ‘uber-cool’, celeb loved make-up range ‘Provoke Cosmetics’ Provoke received huge acclaim in the UK & abroad, finding its way into the hands of many a glam girl, including Keira Knightley, Emilia Fox, Racheal Weisz, two Miss World’s & numerous Bollywood Starlets. Provoke was a treasure trove packed with exciting and innovative items dedicated to encourage women to become their own make-up artists.
After a major battle with Ovarian Cancer. Zaynab decided to focus on family life and her love of writing and recently sold the Brand to a London based business group.
All this from a young woman who has become an inspiration and icon to women all over the world.
